| During
Diana Anaid’s hiatus from making records, she read spiritual
books, looked after her dying father and bonded with her son. The
five time ARIA nominated singer returns with vengeance on her fourth
album “Diana Anaid”. The pissed-off songs like “Make
Me Change My Name” and “Happy For Me” are as compelling
as they are disturbing. This is her most radio-friendly effort, even
more so than her international release Beautiful Obscene, which saw
Diana tour in the States for two years supporting her radio hit Last
Thing. Having begun her musical journey at the age of nine, and bursting
onto the Aussie music scene in her teens with the bombastic I Go Off,
Diana has grown in leaps and bounds on her new CD, with “Black
Rainbow” and “Peace” strong on melody, and the anthemic
Nothing Special” and “Get Your Freak On” seeing
the earthgirl brat from Byron Bay embrace the alienated members of
her audience. This is the best record Diana has made to date, more
balanced than previous offers and filled with the honesty and cheekiness
Diana Anaid is known and loved for. With a twelve year career, a legion
of fans across the globe and critical praise for all her releases,
Diana Anaid is a singer-songwriter to watch and admire.
