The Solar Heat is a band of brothers from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. C.J., the eldest Solar brother (now 17), has an edgy yet rich and soulful voice well beyond his years. It has been said that “there is nothing like sibling harmony”; and when younger brother, Cody, is not lending his vocals to harmony, he shares time as a lead vocalist and has been frequently called “ Little John Fogerty” in music reviews because of his rough, deep voice and the passion and fire he sings with. Cody’s twin, Mack, (almost 15) is the quiet one, except when rockin’ out on the drums.
The Solar Heat released their first original CD entitled, “On the Right Track,” August 2008 and they are currently working on their 2nd album. They have several new singles currently available on itunes and amazon.com.
The band won their local Colgate Country Showdown, April 09 and will be representing radio station KQKI in the state competition in November. They just won the Anthem Guitars Battle of the Bands with their new song, She Had a Gown, and had their radio debut of their new single, Slowdance, on WYNK, June 1, 2009. Their original song, Only Thing She Needs, was selected for the New Orleans compilation CD, Love Song to New Orleans, released on Oct.1, 2009.
Media articles, current videos, and music are available on their website at www.thesolarheat.com and their myspace at myspace.com/thesolarheat.
CJ Solar is now 17 and is the songwriter for the band. This song "It's About the Lovin" was written in May 2009.
