The Spanish Channel is Romantic Nerd Rock: the up-tempo indie energy of Weezer & the New Pornographers and the quirky storytelling of Fountains of Wayne & Ben Folds. Based in Brooklyn, NY, The Spanish Channel is a parallel universe where everything is brighter and more fun!

Lead singer & songwriter Jaime Garamella grew up in suburban Connecticut, where life on Telemundo and Univision seemed way more colorful and dramatic. After attending Berklee College of Music, he moved to New York City, where he met bassist Dimitri Moderbacher, drummer Bruce Hordon, and fellow Berklee guitarist Lauren Stockner.

"A Weak Heart" was released on the band's 2008 debut album, "Upside Downer". The sound of the kick drum is actually a sample of Jaime tapping on his wife's sternum.

The Spanish Channel is recording its follow-up album and performing on the east coast. Follow us at TheSpanishChannel.net.
